Being Graceful...Or not!
Several weeks ago, I was carrying a Key Lime Pie up the stairs and managed to trip and fall back down the steps. I was mortified because it happened in front of all my guests, and I dropped the dang pie! At least it was after dinner, and my guests did get to sample it. But after it hit the floor, Winnie was in dog heaven licking up the mess. On the other hand, I was covered in it and in severe pain. I spent three days at home, trying to breathe through the pain, and when I saw the chiropractor, I started to get relief.
Now, I could have just focused on the negative, but I chose to find some positives in the whole incident. And what I discovered was:
How caring and concerned my friends were. They checked in on me daily and offered assistance if needed.
Being home for three days and hanging out doing nothing was not good! I was bored and couldn't do anything I wanted.
Sometimes you need to stop, slow down and refocus.
I am on the mind, feeling better, and am so appreciative of being able to move! I have made up lost time focusing on my presentations, and I got to spend time in my craft room.
While a tumble down the stairs wasn't fun, it helped me slow down and refocus on what is important. Oh, and I will be making another Key Lime Pie so that I can taste it!
