New Year - New Goals

I figured I would give everyone a break from the holidays and the crazy that happens around that time of the year. I use this time of the year to do my reflection on the prior year and make some goals for the current year. I don’t do “New Years Resolutions” - to me that just sets me up for failure. Doing something for 365 days just is overwhelming. It’s so much easier to break my goals down into manageable chunks. Plus, it’s much easier to reach smaller goals on your way to your bigger goal. And for me, it’s all about accomplishments.

I have my wall of Post-it Notes where I write down all my visions, goals, plans, etc. I look at it daily, move my notes around, get excited when I can throw one away because I accomplished it but I realized that sometimes I have these great ideas and am no where near my wall of Post-its, so…..I forget about it. I need something that I can carry with me, jot down my fabulous ideas and don’t have to wait to hopefully remember what it was to slap it on my wall. And then I had my version of an “ah ha” moment. I have been working on creating a journal. And to stick with my theme of smaller chunks, it is for 30 days. Each week will focus on a theme and help to reframe our thinking from negative to positive. Grateful, Thankful, Blessed are the topics. The last week of the journal will be the opportunity to review your month, gather your key “wins”, and realize how focusing on the positive has changed you.

Stay tuned!
